Volunteer with us
Be part of something extraordinary.
Our volunteers are the heart of CAH. Every year, 50+ people — from vets and nurses to foster carers and photographers — help change the lives of the island's dogs and cats.
What we offer
A working holiday in paradise.
Purpose & adventure
Volunteering with us is 50% work, 50% fun. Our schedule can be unpredictable, but you'll have plenty of time to enjoy Carriacou's unspoiled beauty.
Comfortable villa
Thanks to a generous neighbour, volunteers currently stay in a beautiful villa with a pool — a peaceful place to relax and recharge until the new clinic is built.
Unforgettable day trips
We organise adventures during your stay: Saline Island's sea turtles, hikes, snorkelling and diving trips, and more.
What we're looking for
Vets, nurses — and team players.
Veterinary professionals
We're primarily seeking qualified veterinarians, vet nurses or vet techs experienced in routine medical care and surgeries.
A two-week minimum
We ask for a minimum stay of two weeks — though many volunteers find even two weeks isn't enough to soak it all in.
Team spirit
From clinic chores to patient care to community education, everyone pitches in and supports the team — whatever their title.
Other ways to help
Not a vet? No problem.
There's a role for everyone — whether you're on the island or supporting from afar.
On the island
🐾 Foster carers
Open your home to a pet in need. Fostering provides a stable, loving environment until a dog finds their forever home.
🔧 Handy helpers
Gardener, carpenter, painter, tiler or electrician? Your skills help us maintain and improve the clinic.
📸 Photographers
Help capture our dogs, clinic life and Carriacou's scenery for our website and social media.
From anywhere
💷 Fundraisers
Organise events, take on a sponsored challenge, or work with businesses to secure sponsorships. Every effort makes a big impact.
🎨 Designers & printers
Design infographics, reports or T-shirts — or donate prints to support the cause.
📣 Social media advocates
Spread the word about animal health and help attract supporters, donors and volunteers.
