The new build
Build the future with us.
Hurricane Beryl took our clinic. Together we're rebuilding something stronger, greener and ready for whatever the next storm brings.
Weathering the storm
The day everything changed.
On 1 July 2024, Hurricane Beryl ripped through Carriacou, leaving island-wide destruction. The premises we'd rented since 2013 suffered severe structural damage, and our rental agreement was terminated. Suddenly we had no clinic.
Without our supporters, this would have been the end of the island's only veterinary service. Donations that arrived immediately after the storm let us keep going — accommodating visiting volunteers, running a mobile clinic and a twice-weekly pop-up, and setting up a temporary surgery in the basement of our director's home.
It's kept us running — but it isn't sustainable. Now we're ready for the next step.
Stronger, greener & future-ready
A home designed to last.
The Government of Grenada has granted us a lease on land for the new clinic — the site of our current pop-up, just down the road from our original home. Our vision includes:
- An environmentally sustainable, storm-resistant building that keeps care going even in extreme weather.
- Facilities for general veterinary care, surgery and inpatient care for dogs and cats.
- Improved on-site accommodation for visiting volunteer vets and nurses.
Building back better and greener secures care for Carriacou's animals — no matter what challenges arise. 🌱🐾
